When the pair of monarchs was done with the nitty-gritty of the proceedings, the male, just as described by Robert Michael Pyle, “will fly straight up, carrying her (the female) in a postnuptial flight...into a tree.” In this case onto a handy jatropha. Notice the 3 little white dots on the sprouting leaf, certainly eggs from an insect, possibly a butterfly...
